I figured I'd do this because
a) as much as I'd love for my blog name to go by without context, I realise it would be even more fun if you got the joke and laughed with me.
b) everybody wants to know more about me. It's a given.
Hullo. I'm Krysanne, your hopefully not so regular fifteen-year-old starry eyed adolescent. I like to do the robot dance to Krewella, Adventure Club and most of Mr. Suicide Sheep's remixes. I think Tyler Oakley, Benedict Cumberbatch and Hank Green are radical. I like to write poems and wish I could write them as much as I breathe; and much like my thoughts, they rarely ever rhyme. I like to think my capacity for intelligence and logical thinking is at an acceptable level, so if you call me a femi-nazi I will you tear you down bullet point by carefully worded bullet point.
What else?
I was born in Oman and am Indian by blood and soul. That being said, I still aspire to study outside of India for as long as I can because in all honesty I am terrified of the Indian educational system. I like the font Times New Roman, and big spaces like auditoriums and the expanse of an ocean both intimidate and enthrall me. I get nightmares a lot and believe I am destined to help people, and that's basically what I want to do with my life.
This is my favourite quote:
"The world promises you comfort, but you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness." - Pope Benedict XVI
Role models include my friend Elroy and, on a larger scale, Tyler Oakley (because of the good he does with his popularity) and my confirmation saint, Saint Rosalia.
Fandoms I am actively part of include the Harry Potter, Sherlock, Doctor Who and All Of John Green's Books fandoms. David Levithan is my favourite author and I firmly believe he does not get half of the recognition and love he and his books deserve.
Here's the explanation for my blog title:
BioKrys is what my friends call me, back when everybody was getting themselves boyfriends and I told them I was going to ship myself with biology because why not. BioKrys is - you guessed it - our ship name.
The Starch Wars Expedition happened after an unfortunate encounter with autocorrect, when I meant to type Star Wars and ended up typing Starch Wars. My friend who I had been chatting with and I consequently came up with the following hilarious (albeit rather lame, but don't tell him I said that) joke:
a bunch of potatoes having a squabble? starch wars.
a bunch of potatoes climbing a mountain? starch trek.
This is my literature blog. I plan on making another one when I finish with secondary school this year and enter into the big bad (Singaporean) world next year. It's a long story, so I'll save it for another time.
I'll leave you with this quote my friend Denis once autographed with: (I have the raddest friends.)
Why do stars smell like dogs? It must be at heart for cats to sing.
with love,
BioKrys
